Dr. Nicholas Ising's interest in dentistry began in high school while shadowing dentists and writing a career paper. This interest led him to attend the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate education in pre-dental studies. From there, he earned his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville Dental School where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He completed a 30-month orthodontic residency at St. Louis University and received his Masters of Science in Dental Research. While he was there he won the Uchyiama-Truetzel Tweed Award for excellence in wire bending and worked with the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club providing free dental work to the underserved. After graduation, he moved back to Kentucky where he currently lives with his wife Natalie, their daughter Noelle, a dog and two cats.
When Dr. Ising isn't in the office, you can find him spending time with his family, walking his Saint Bernard, boating and fishing at Lake Cumberland, hunting, keeping up with the Cards and Cats or playing golf.
Dr. Ising is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and the Kentucky Dental Association. He is also a member of the Delphi and Omicron Upsilon dental honor societies due to his outstanding work in dental school.
